Booking terms and conditions

1. Who we are

Sunrise Egypt Tours is a licensed tour operator registered with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, with offices on the Corniche el-Nil, Luxor. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Sunrise Egypt Tours, and “you” means the person making the booking and everyone travelling on it.

2. Making a booking

A booking exists once we have confirmed it in writing and received your deposit. The person booking must be 18 or over and accepts these terms on behalf of everyone in the party. Quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise, and are subject to availability at the time of confirmation.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are per person unless the programme says otherwise, and are shown in USD. A deposit of 25% is due on confirmation, with the balance due 21 days before arrival. Bookings made inside 21 days are payable in full. We reserve the right to correct a price that has been listed in error, and to release a booking if the balance is not paid by the due date.

4. What is and is not included

Each programme page lists exactly what the price covers and what it does not. Anything not listed as included is excluded. International flights, visas and travel insurance are never included unless explicitly stated.

5. Changes by you

Changes are free of charge more than 21 days before arrival, subject to availability and any difference in price. Inside 21 days we will do our best but cannot guarantee a change is possible, and third-party costs already incurred are payable.

6. Cancellation by you

• More than 21 days before arrival: deposit refunded in full
• 21 to 7 days: deposit held as credit, valid 12 months
• Fewer than 7 days: deposit non-refundable
• No-show or cancellation after start: no refund

7. Changes and cancellation by us

We may occasionally need to alter an itinerary. Where a change is minor, such as reversing the order of two sites, we will tell you but no compensation applies. Where a change is significant, you may accept it, take an alternative programme, or cancel for a full refund. We will not cancel your programme within 21 days of arrival except for reasons of force majeure or your failure to pay.

8. Force majeure

We are not liable for changes or cancellation caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including war or the threat of war, civil unrest, government action, site closure, epidemic, extreme weather, or air and sea traffic disruption. Where possible we will offer an alternative or a credit.

9. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visa required, for arriving at the times given on your itinerary, and for behaving in a way that does not put others at risk or cause offence. We may remove a guest from a programme, without refund, where their behaviour warrants it.

10. Insurance

Travel insurance is a condition of booking. Your policy must cover medical treatment, repatriation and cancellation. Certain activities, notably balloon flights and scuba diving, need specific cover; check your policy before booking those.

11. Health and fitness

Several programmes involve walking on uneven ground, steps and heat. You must tell us at booking about any medical condition, mobility limitation, allergy or dietary requirement that affects your participation.

12. Liability

We accept responsibility for the parts of your programme we provide directly, and for the reasonable selection of suppliers. We are not liable for loss or injury arising from your own actions, from activities not booked through us, or from the acts of third parties outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, where such limitation is prohibited by law.

13. Complaints

Tell your guide or the duty coordinator immediately so we have a chance to fix it while you are still with us. If it is unresolved, write to reservations@sunriseegypttours.com within 28 days of returning home and we will respond within 14 days.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by Egyptian law, and the courts of Luxor have jurisdiction.
