Everything you need while planning or travelling: documents, changes, payments, and who to call when something goes wrong.

Before you travel

Your documents

Around 14 days before arrival you receive a single PDF voucher containing your day-by-day itinerary, pickup times and places, your guide’s name, hotel and cruise details, and the 24-hour duty coordinator number. Print it or save it offline; mobile data at some sites is unreliable.

Changing a detail

Flight moved, extra guest, different hotel? Email reservations with your booking reference. Changes more than 21 days out are free of charge subject to availability.

Paying the balance

We send a secure payment link 28 days before arrival, due at 21 days. If you would rather pay by bank transfer, ask and we will send account details. We never ask for card numbers by email or WhatsApp.

While you are in Egypt

Your driver has not arrived

Wait five minutes at the agreed point, then call the duty coordinator number on your voucher. Do not take an alternative taxi arranged by someone approaching you at the airport or dock; we will always find you.

You are unwell

Tell your guide first. They can reach an English-speaking doctor in Luxor, Aswan, Cairo and Hurghada, usually within the hour. Keep receipts for your insurer.

Something is wrong with the programme

Raise it on the spot with your guide or the duty coordinator rather than after you get home. Almost everything is fixable the same day; very little is fixable a fortnight later.

Practical questions

Money

The Egyptian pound is the local currency. Cards are accepted at hotels, cruisers and larger restaurants, but carry cash for site extras, tips and markets. ATMs are reliable in all four cities we operate in.

Connectivity

Buy a local eSIM or a Vodafone or Orange SIM at the airport for a few dollars. Hotel and cruiser wifi works in public areas and is patchy in cabins.

Photography

Free at most outdoor sites. Tomb interiors in the Valley of the Kings require a photo ticket bought at the gate. Tripods and drones need written permits we cannot obtain at short notice.

Still stuck?

Email reservations@sunriseegypttours.com or message +20 100 000 0000 on WhatsApp. If you are already travelling, use the duty number on your voucher instead, which is monitored around the clock.
